Barnsley Women’s Football Club have completed the signing of Bermuda international Trinae Edwards, bolstering their ranks with proven tier-four experience.
The versatile midfielder arrives at the Reds boasting an established pedigree across the English women's football pyramid, having previously featured for Brighouse Town, Leeds United, and FC United of Manchester.
Edwards expressed her eagerness to make an immediate impact at the club, where she links up with international compatriot Aaliyah Nolan.
"I’m delighted to be joining Barnsley and show what I can do," Edwards said. "The club has been great and I’m pleased to be reunited with my fellow Bermudian international Aaliyah Nolan."
Barnsley manager Craige Richardson hailed the arrival as another major coup in the club's summer recruitment drive, citing Edwards' technical quality and pedigree.
"Our recruitment just keeps going from strength to strength," Richardson said. "I’m excited to see what Trinae can do at this level, having already played at Leeds and FC United of Manchester.
"In the short time she’s been with us, you can see she’s an absolute baller with an edge. She also comes highly recommended by Nolan who knows her from her Bermudian international call-ups. I believe we’ve secured another very exciting prospect."
Meanwhile, in non-league men's football, Southern League Premier Central outfit Leiston FC confirmed that Bermudian international midfielder Willie Clemons has secured crucial player sponsorship for the campaign ahead.
The Suffolk club announced that The Francis Family will serve as Clemons' primary sponsor for the season, extending gratitude for their continued backing of the experienced playmaker at Victory Road.
