Penruddocke Climbs to 21st at ILCA 6 World Championship

IslandStats.com
Bermudian Olympian Adriana Penruddocke continued her upward trajectory at the 2026 ILCA 6 Women's World Championship in Dún Laoghaire, Ireland, climbing four places to 21st overall after a testing, light-wind third day.

Patience was the order of the afternoon on Dublin Bay, with sailors forced to endure a lengthy postponement afloat as wind speeds languished at an unraceable two knots.

Relief finally arrived around 13:00 when a gentle breeze filtered through, allowing the Gold Fleet to get under way at 13:15 in roughly eight knots, followed shortly by the Silver Fleet. Conditions remained tricky and unstable throughout, hovering between seven and nine knots before fading to just four to five knots by the finish.

Penruddocke handled the fickle, dying breeze with composure in the day’s solitary contest. The 25-year-old crossed the line in 18th place, a disciplined result that moves her onto 69 net points and elevates her from 25th into 21st on the leaderboard.

The performance keeps the Bermudian firmly in touch with the top 20 as the regatta enters the crucial second half of competition off the Irish coast.
