DeRoza Shines as New Hampshire Hit Six in Historic Victory

IslandStats.com
Bermudian forward Xahvi DeRoza was among the standout performers as the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team produced an attacking clinic, sweeping past New Haven 6-2 at Wildcat Stadium.

In the first-ever competitive meeting between the programmes, the Wildcats turned on the style to record their highest single-match goal tally in at least 19 years.

Six different players found the back of the net in a relentless team display. Graduate midfielder Miguel Soto Gonzalez spearheaded the attack with a goal and two assists, while sophomore DeRoza made a decisive impact with a three-point night of his own, bagging a goal and setting up another.

Sophomore Mikael Pulkkinen got the scoring under way by opening his collegiate account, before senior Daniel Firek added his first goal in Wildcat colours. Junior Cabot McLaren netted his second of the season and freshman Augie Hoelscher notched his first collegiate strike, with senior David Davila contributing a pair of assists.

The emphatic victory improves New Hampshire to 3-1-1 on the season—stretching their unbeaten run to four matches (3-0-1)—while New Haven slip to 1-4-0 overall.
