Adverse weather conditions have forced a delay to the start of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship Local Qualifier presented by Brit Re at Port Royal Golf Course.
Tournament officials confirmed that play for Monday's opening round, originally scheduled to get under way early in the morning, was pushed back to an 11:00 start following inclement conditions across the Southampton layout.
The 36-hole shootout features the island’s leading professional and amateur golfers competing for places in the PGA Tour’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship, which takes place at Port Royal in October.
With the top two finishers earning coveted exemptions into the main event field and third place securing an exemption for the following edition, players now face a compressed schedule as they navigate challenging coastal conditions on one of the island's most demanding tests.
