Mixed Day in the UK in Overseas Round-Up

IslandStats.com
Ayleal Dill produced a standout display in the East Midlands to headline a busy weekend of action for Bermuda’s overseas contingent, scoring a hat-trick and claiming man-of-the-match honours in Southwell City’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Gedling Miners Welfare.

In the Championship, goalkeeper Nathan Trott and Cardiff City endured a frustrating trip to Fratton Park, slipping to a 2-0 defeat against Portsmouth.

Meanwhile Nahki Wells and his Luton Town teammates drew 1 - 1 with Leyton Orient.

The Emirates FA Cup first qualifying round brought mixed fortunes across the non-league pyramid, including a direct clash of Bermudian talent at The Grove. Milan Butterfield’s Halesowen Town secured safe passage into the next round with a 3-1 win over Harry Twite and Basford United. Elsewhere in the competition, Willie Clemons helped Leiston FC keep a clean sheet in a goalless stalemate against Grays Athletic, sending the tie to a replay.

Peterborough Sports proved too strong for Reggie Lambe’s Ipswich Wanderers, running out comfortable 4-0 winners to halt the visitors’ progress.

In the National League North, midfielder Keziah Martin played a key role as Hereford battled to a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Spennymoor Town at Edgar Street. There was less joy in the National League South for Ne-Jai Tucker, whose Walton & Hersham side suffered a 2-0 home reverse at the hands of Ebbsfleet United.

Milai Perrott featured in a breathless six-goal contest for Corby Town, who shared the spoils in an entertaining 3-3 draw with Loughborough Students. Further down the pyramid, coach Daizhari Tucker faced a difficult afternoon in the dugout as his Southern League Division One South side, Worcester Raiders, fell to a 4-0 defeat away to Barnstaple Town.
