Fishel and Menti Star as Seattle Reign Draw Four-Goal Thriller
Mia Fishel and Sally Menti both scored and provided an assist as Seattle Reign FC played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Angel City FC in the NWSL.
In a lightning-fast second-half spell, the duo combined twice in the space of two minutes to put the Reign in control before Angel City fought back to earn a share of the spoils.
Two-Minute Double Blow Dynamic
In the 50th minute, pressure led by Mercado forced Angel City goalkeeper Angelina Anderson into a hasty clearance. Ryanne Brown was quickest to react, nodding the ball forward to Fishel in the middle of the pitch. Fishel flicked a clever pass into the path of Menti on the run, and the midfielder made no mistake, drilling a low, hard shot beyond Anderson into the bottom corner.
Barely 120 seconds later, the pair reversed roles to double Seattle's advantage in spectacular fashion.
McCammon found Menti at the edge of the penalty area with her back to goal. The midfielder deftly laid off a one-touch pass into the path of Fishel, who unleashed a stunning strike into the top left corner to leave Anderson with no chance.
Despite the two-goal cushion, Seattle were ultimately forced to settle for a point as Angel City rallied late on to claim a draw.
