Tyler Smith delivered a standout performance to claim bronze in the Men's Triathlon, securing Bermuda’s third medal of the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in the Dominican Republic.
Smith completed the grueling course in 1:46:21, crossing the line 53 seconds behind race winner Aram Peñaflor of Mexico (1:45:28).
The Bermudian produced a strong three-discipline display, opening with a 17:53 swim before clocking 1:14:05 on the bike leg and holding off the chasing pack on the final run.
Compatriot Nicholas Pilgrim also turned in a solid performance in the same event, finishing 15th overall with a total time of 1:53:44 (18:04 swim, 1:15:54 bike).
Inside the Juan Pablo Duarte Aquatic Center, Bermuda's swim team mounted strong final pushes across multiple disciplines:
Jack Harvey came agonizingly close to adding to Bermuda's medal tally, finishing 4th in the Men's 200m Backstroke A Final with a rapid time of 2:02.10, having qualified 10th overall from the heats (2:09.53).
Elijah Daley advanced to the Men's 50m Butterfly A Final, finishing 10th in 25.14 after qualifying 11th overall in 24.98.
Madelyn Moore placed 9th in the Women's 50m Butterfly A Final with a time of 28.14, after clocking 28.11 in the heats.
Sam Williamson took 4th place in the Men's 200m Freestyle B Final (1:56.52) and finished 7th in the Men's 50m Butterfly B Final (25.52).
Bermuda's Women’s Field Hockey team suffered a painful shootout defeat to Puerto Rico in their 5th–8th place classification match.
After falling behind in the opening quarter, Bermuda battled back to level the match 1-1 courtesy of a second-quarter strike from Abigail Brewer. With neither side able to break the deadlock in regulation, the match went to a penalty stroke shootout, where Puerto Rico edged out a 3-1 victory.
On the roads of Malecón Avenue, Gabriella Arnold earned a respectable 12th-place finish in the Women's Cycling Road Race, tackling the coastal circuit in 3:10:37.
Meanwhile, on the mountain bike trails at the La Barranquita course, Robin Horsfield endured a tough day in the Men's Cross-Country Final, finishing a lap down against a high-tempo field.
