Bermuda battled back from an early deficit before being forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against the US Virgin Islands in an entertaining opening match of the Under-15 Girls Goombay Cup at the Roscow A.L. Davies Field in the Bahamas.

Bermuda's response came in the 12th minute when Priya Dill finished confidently to restore parity, sparking a spell of sustained pressure from the young Goombey Warriors.
Dill struck again just before the interval, finding the net in the 31st minute to put Bermuda 2 - 1 in front, seemingly giving her side the perfect platform heading into the break.
The lead, however, lasted only moments.
The US Virgin Islands responded immediately, scoring just a minute later to level the contest at 2-2 and ensure the teams went into half-time with nothing to separate them after a lively opening 35 minutes.
The second half developed into a tactical battle, with both teams tightening up defensively and limiting clear-cut chances. Bermuda continued to push for a winner, while the US Virgin Islands threatened on the counterattack, but neither side could find the decisive breakthrough.
When the final whistle sounded, the points were shared after an absorbing contest that showcased the determination of both teams.
Bermuda will take encouragement from the character they displayed in fighting back from behind, with Dill's clinical finishing providing an early highlight of their campaign as they look ahead to their remaining group matches.
