Okera Bascome played a typically explosive cameo as Coventry & North Warwickshire Cricket Club defeated Kenilworth Wardens Cricket Club by nine runs to lift the Charity Twenty20 Knockout Competition trophy at the Binley Road Ground.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Coventry & North Warwickshire posted a competitive total of 169 for seven from their 20 overs, with Bascome providing the early momentum.
Opening the innings, the Bermudian blasted 26 from just 10 deliveries, striking six boundaries in a fearless display that gave his side a flying start. Akshaykumar Patel then anchored the innings with a top score of 48 to ensure Coventry & North Warwickshire finished with a challenging target.
Ben Blakemore was the standout bowler for Kenilworth Wardens, returning figures of three wickets for 28 runs to keep his side in the contest.
Kenilworth Wardens mounted a spirited chase in reply, with Harry Johnson leading the way with an impressive 66 as the required run rate remained within reach for much of the innings.
However, Coventry & North Warwickshire held their nerve in the closing stages, restricting their opponents to 160 for six to seal a hard-earned nine-run victory and claim the trophy.
Patel capped an outstanding all-round performance by starring with the ball, finishing with figures of three for 44 from his four overs to help deny Kenilworth Wardens a successful chase.
The victory completed a memorable day for Coventry & North Warwickshire, with Bascome's blistering start laying the foundation for the title-winning success and adding another trophy to the Bermudian's growing list of achievements in English club cricket.
