Competing in the boys ten to eleven age group division, Laing carded a determined seven over par round of seventy-nine to move into fourth place overall at twelve over par. His action-packed second round included a single birdie, three bogeys, a double bogey, and a triple bogey, leaving him firmly in the hunt heading into the final round.
In the boys twelve to thirteen age group division, Austin Frank is within touching distance of the top ten, sitting in a tie for twelfth place at twenty over par. Frank signed for an eleven over par round of eighty-three on day two, grinding out eight pars alongside nine bogeys and a double bogey.
Further up the age brackets, SaQui Robinson faces a tough climbing task in the boys sixteen to eighteen division. Robinson is currently tied for fifty-first position at fifteen over par overall after carding a second-round nine over par eighty-one, a score that featured one birdie and eight pars.
The boys fourteen to fifteen age group division provided a stern test for the remaining island golfers on a challenging course. Cole Graham is in a tie for thirty-first at twenty-six over par after enduring a tough sixteen over par round of eighty-eight. Graham managed nine pars but was undone by a costly string of big numbers, including two triple bogeys.
Teammate Lachlan Soutter sits shortly behind in thirty-fifth position at thirty-seven over par. Soutter signed for a twenty over par ninety-two in an eventful round that uniquely featured three birdies and three pars, but was ultimately derailed by seven double bogeys and a damaging quintuple bogey.
