IslandStats.com
The pristine sands of Clearwater Beach provided the backdrop for a display of elite endurance as the Bermuda National Triathlon Championships concluded with Olympian Tyler Smith and Kristen Robinson being crowned the island’s premier Triathletes.

Competing over the standard Olympic distance of a 1.5km swim, a 40km bike, and a 10km run, the field was pushed to the limit as Bermuda’s top talent vied for national honors.

In the Men’s Division, Smith demonstrated exactly why he belongs on the world stage with a commanding performance from the first plunge. Smith set a blistering pace in the water, clocking 17:17 for the swim before transitioning into a clinical 59:30 bike leg. He rounded off his morning with a swift 34:20 run to cross the line in a total time of 1:51:45.

His nearest challenger was the rising talent Jackson Langley, who secured second place with a total time of 2:01:15. Michael Evans rounded out the podium, finishing in 2:11:46 after a resilient effort across all three disciplines.

The Women’s Division saw Robinson deliver a masterclass in consistency to secure the national title. Robinson navigated the water in 25:55 and maintained her lead with a 1:16:57 bike leg. Despite the rising temperatures during the final segment, she produced a 46:21 run to finish with an overall time of 2:31:16.

Nicole Mitchell claimed the runner-up spot in 2:42:47, having produced the fastest bike split in the women’s field, while Georgia Evans showcased her strength on the run to secure third place with a total time of 2:46:36.

The team competition added an extra layer of local rivalry to the proceedings, with Tri-ing Our Best taking the top honors. The trio combined for a total time of 2:04:13, underpinned by an exceptional opening swim leg that rivaled the elite individual times.

The wonderfully named The King is coming – look busy secured second place in 2:14:46, holding off a late surge from the A-Team, who finished in 2:19:27 thanks to the fastest team run of the day.

The event served as a testament to the thriving multisport community on the island as veteran campaigners and newcomers alike celebrated a successful championship weekend.
