Nadhira Durham and her Elizabeth City State Women's Tennis teammates delivered a clinical performance at the ECSU Tennis Courts, securing an emphatic 7–0 victory over Virginia Union.
The Vikings showcased their dominance on Senior Day, refusing to drop a single set against the Panthers in a performance that etched their names into the program’s history books. The result pushed Elizabeth City State to seven wins for the season—the program's best overall record since 2011—while also marking a decade-high sixth conference victory in the CIAA.
The afternoon began with the hosts asserting their authority in the doubles flight. Competing at the number one spot, Bermudian standout Nadhira Durham paired with Reichel Freytes to deliver a sharp performance. The duo defeated Madison Hill and Brianna Velinor 6–2, providing the essential spark that allowed ECSU to secure the all-important doubles point.
Durham’s clinical form carried directly into the singles competition. In her match at the number three position, she produced a flawless display of baseline precision against Marianna Brooks. Durham dismantled her opponent in straight sets, recording a double-bagel 6–0, 6–0 victory to help maintain the clean sheet for the Vikings.
The milestone victory served as a fitting tribute to the graduating class, with seniors Reichel Freytes, Marley Renner, and Kennedy Rollins all contributing to the scoresheet in their final home appearance.
Under the leadership of head coach Roosevelt Cooper, the Vikings have transformed into a formidable force in the conference.
