The Trojans asserted their dominance from the opening serves, sweeping through the doubles flight to set the tone for a one-sided encounter. In the number three doubles position, the Bermudian-led pairing of Alexcie Burrows and Damita Bollers delivered a masterclass in aggressive net play. The duo dismantled the Marymount pairing of F. Loiseau and S. Berrit, recording a clinical 6–0 victory to help secure the opening point for the visitors.
The momentum carried directly into the singles play, where Virginia State's depth proved far too much for the struggling Marymount lineup. However, the afternoon took a somber turn during the transition to individual matches.
Burrows, who was scheduled to compete at the number six singles spot, was awarded a walkover win. Her opponent, unfortunately, sustained an injury during the earlier doubles match and was unable to take to the court for the final flight.
