Harrow Hold Off King’s College Despite Horan Resistance

IslandStats.com
Harrow School Win by 28 Runs

Harrow School 1st XI 216/5 King's College, Taunton 178

Harrow School secured a 28-run victory over Luke Horan and his King’s College Taunton teammates, in a high-quality 40-over Friendly that went down to the wire in North West London.

The hosts, having been put in to bat by King’s College and posted a competitive 216 for 5. The centerpiece of the Harrow innings was a superb unbeaten 61 from Rishya Rawal. Navigating the visiting attack with poise, Rawal’s 52-ball knock included eight boundaries and two sixes, providing the late-innings acceleration required to shift the momentum.

Bermudian international Horan led the King’s attack with discipline, returning figures of 1 for 39 from his six overs. He was well supported by T Watson, who proved to be the pick of the bowlers with an economical 1 for 29 from a seven-over spell that frequently stifled the Harrow top order.

In reply, King’s College struggled to build the substantial partnerships needed to chase down the target. Ieuan Morris was the architect of their downfall, delivering a masterclass in seam bowling to claim 4 for 12 from his six overs, including two maidens.

Despite the collapse, King’s found hope through a resilient sixth-wicket stand between H Bush and Horan. The pair added 53 runs to keep the chase alive, with Bush top-scoring for the visitors with 39. Horan showcased his all-round capabilities with a brisk 29 off 41 balls, clearing the rope once, but his departure triggered a final slide as King’s were eventually bowled out for 178.

The victory marks a disciplined start to the summer schedule for Harrow, while King’s College will look to find greater consistency in their middle order as they head into a busy period of fixtures.
