The second day of the W.E.R. Joell Memorial Tennis Tournament saw Bermuda’s top seeds continue their ruthless pursuit of silverware, as the group stages began to take definitive shape at the National Tennis Stadium.

Building on the momentum of a clinical opening day, the Men’s A Division remained the focal point of the afternoon session. Wayne Montgomery, who looked in mid-season form on Monday, showed no signs of slowing down in Group One. Facing David Gravier, Montgomery utilized his heavy baseline game to dictate play from the outset, securing a 6-1, 6-1 straight-sets victory. The win marks Montgomery’s second consecutive dominant performance as he cements his status as the man to beat in the top flight.

In the same division, Zachary McGuire proved equally effective. McGuire, who had navigated a tough test earlier in the week, appeared settled as he brushed aside Tobiah Goodchild with a 6-1, 6-3 win. Despite the setback, Goodchild showed impressive resilience; returning to the court later in the day, he secured a vital 6-2, 6-2 victory over Hugh Seymour to keep his knockout hopes alive.

The Ladies A Division saw a masterclass in endurance from Terceira Lee, who navigated two demanding matches to remain undefeated. Her day began with a grueling baseline battle against Caitlin Conyers. In a contest defined by tactical grit, Lee held her nerve during the critical "business end" of both sets to secure a hard-fought 7-5, 7-5 victory.

With little time to recover, Lee returned to the clay to face Samantha Morgan. Any concerns regarding fatigue were quickly dispelled as she produced a clinical 6-2, 6-1 win. The back-to-back successes put Lee in a commanding position at the top of the standings heading into the final round-robin fixtures.

In the Men’s B Division, the "Battle of the Grassos" lived up to its billing in Group One. Adam Grasso was forced to dig deep after dropping the opening set to Chris Grasso. In a match that swung on the narrowest of margins, Adam clawed back the second set before eventually prevailing in a tense championship tie-break, finishing 4-6, 6-2, 12-10.

Elsewhere in the B Division, Group Two saw a ruthless performance from Will Britten. Facing Osenotse Phenyo, Britten was quite simply untouchable, recording a "double bagel" 6-0, 6-0 victory.

The day’s action was rounded off in the Ladies B Division, where Arianna Parra Delgado delivered a statement of intent. Delgado conceded only a single game in a 6-1, 6-0 demolition of Dylan Outerbridge, ensuring her name remains at the top of the contenders' list as the tournament moves toward the business end of the week.
