Despite the setback, Goodchild showed impressive resilience; returning to the court later in the day, he secured a vital 6-2, 6-2 victory over Hugh Seymour to keep his knockout hopes alive.
The Ladies A Division saw a masterclass in endurance from Terceira Lee, who navigated two demanding matches to remain undefeated. Her day began with a grueling baseline battle against Caitlin Conyers. Elsewhere in the B Division, Group Two saw a ruthless performance from Will Britten. Facing Osenotse Phenyo, Britten was quite simply untouchable, recording a "double bagel" 6-0, 6-0 victory.
The day’s action was rounded off in the Ladies B Division, where Arianna Parra Delgado delivered a statement of intent. Delgado conceded only a single game in a 6-1, 6-0 demolition of Dylan Outerbridge, ensuring her name remains at the top of the contenders' list as the tournament moves toward the business end of the week.
