The Bermuda Football Association’s Women’s Committee hosted the 2026 Girls’ League Tournament over two action-packed weekends, with 32 teams across four age groups competing at Bermuda College and Warwick Academy on March 7th and 14th.
The tournament showcased the growing depth of girls’ football in Bermuda, with competitive matches from the youngest Under 7 players right through to the Under 13 Divisions.
Week 1 — March 7th
The Under 7 Division at Bermuda College saw seven teams battle through a full Round Robin before the knockout rounds. Devonshire Lady Colts, only in their second year in the league, made a strong statement by powering through to the final with a 2-0 Semi-Final win over BHS Blue.
They faced WA Valencia, who overcame BHS Yellow in the other Semi-Final that went to a penalty shootout (3-2). In the final, DevonshireLady Colts held firm to win 1-0 and claim the Under 7 title — an impressive achievement for such a young programme.
Over at Warwick Academy, the Under 11 tournament featured two groups of five teams each, with the top two from each group advancing to the Semi-Finals. The final came down to BFLA Black and Warwick Football Academy (WFA) Manchester, and after a tightly contested match that finished level, WFA Manchester held their nerve in a penalty shootout to take the Under 11 crown.
Week 2 — March 14th
The Under 9 Division at Bermuda College produced another exciting day of football. Bascome Football Leadership Academy (BFLA) Blacks were dominant throughout, beating BFLA Reds 2-0 in an All-BFLA Semi-Final, while WFA Inter Milan edged past BHS Blue 2-1 in the other Semi-Final. In the final, BFLA Blacks saw off WFA Inter Milan 1-0 to take the Under 9 title.
The U13 division at Warwick Academy delivered the most drama of the tournament. Both Semi-Finals went to penalty shootouts, with BHS overcoming BFLA Reds and WA Independiente edging past BFLA Blacks from the spot.
In the final, BHS carried that momentum forward and beat WA Independiente 1-0 to be crowned Under 13 champions.
