The Bermuda Premier Division encounter between Boulevard Blazers and X-Roads Warriors was dramatically suspended at half-time as the "January gales" rendered Bernard Park unplayable. With a gale warning in effect and winds gusting toward storm force, referee Tashon Simons took the decision to halt proceedings for the safety of the players and officials.

The match had reached the interval with sixth-placed X-Roads Warriors holding a narrow 1-0 lead. The breakthrough came courtesy of a clinical strike from Samuel McKitrick, whose goal looked set to breathe life into an X-Roads side that had struggled for points in recent weeks.

However, as the first half progressed, the conditions deteriorated rapidly. Bouts of blustery showers and strengthening southwesterly winds made controlled football nearly impossible, eventually leading Simons to conclude that the surface had become unsafe for competitive play.

The suspension leaves tenth-placed Boulevard in a state of flux as they continue their fight for top-flight survival. The Blazers had entered the fixture with renewed confidence following a high-scoring victory in their previous outing, but they will now have to wait for the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) to confirm when the remaining forty-five minutes will be completed.
