Walking Football Makes Temporary move to National Stadium

Leroy "Curly Joe" Wilson has announced a strategic venue change for this week’s walking football sessions, shifting the action from the Bermuda College Gym to the National Stadium Hockey Field. The move is designed to "open it up" and accommodate a higher volume of matches at the premier facility.
Wilson, a former Dandy Town coach and veteran referee, has been at the forefront of the island's walking football movement since 2020, alongside local legend Clyde Best. The program, which caters to men over 50 and women over 40, is currently in a high-intensity phase as it prepares for a full league launch.
According to the latest update from Wilson, the recruitment drive for the upcoming season is well underway:
Current Standings: There are currently three solid teams confirmed for the new league. Target: Wilson is actively looking for three more teams to round out the competition. Launch Date: The official tournament is slated to kick off in March.
The temporary relocation to the National Stadium is a one-week change, with sessions confirmed to return to their regular home at the Bermuda College Gym at 9:00 am next week.
Walking football continues to gain traction in Bermuda as a safe, low-impact way for veteran athletes to stay active while avoiding the joint pain associated with the regular game. The rules are strictly enforced to ensure safety, with no running and minimal physical contact permitted.
Anyone interested in participating—whether as an individual or by entering a full team—is encouraged to attend the training sessions to integrate with the existing squad.
