Papplewick and Linby Cricket Club have announced the signing of Zeri Tomlinson.
Tomlinson is the first signing for the clubs new player/coach Robin Smith.
Smith moved to Papplewick from his native South Africa with a reputation as a high class Wicket Keeper batter. He has a brilliant record in the UK amassing 5144 runs in 103 games, including two double hundreds
Tomlinson heads to Papplewick with experience with Bermuda in both Men’s and U19s international cricket, making his men’s debut at 15.
Tomlinson, marked by a breakout performances in England, a highly successful return to local leagues, and his long-awaited debut in the historic Cup Match.
Here are the key highlights from his 2025 season:
UK Highlights (Sedbergh School) While playing for the prestigious Sedbergh School in Cumbria, Tomlinson established himself as a dominant force in the English schools' circuit.
Century Performance: In May 2025, he notched a superb 108 runs, the highest score of that week among Bermudians playing overseas.
Friendly Form: He recorded a vital 56 off 90 balls to lead Sedbergh to a three-wicket victory over St Peter's School York.
All-Round Display: In a T20 friendly against Myerscough College at Old Trafford, he struck 51 off 50 balls and showed his versatility by taking three catches in the field.
Bermuda Local Highlights Upon returning to the island in June, Tomlinson immediately impacted the local Premier and First Divisions.
Warwick Workmen's Club: In his first match back, he scored 65 in a century partnership with, Kamau Leverock.
Maiden Premier Century: In July, he struck a brilliant 102 off 95 balls (including 10 fours and 5 sixes) at Southampton Oval, leading Warwick to an intimidating total of 315.
Bermuda Smash Invitational: He was selected for the Smith’s Sixers squad, where he contributed both as a batsman and a wicketkeeper.
Cup Match & International Honors Colt Debut: After four years as a reserve for St. George’s, Tomlinson made the bold move to switch allegiances to Somerset Cricket Club. The move paid off as he was selected as a Colt for the 2025 Cup Match, taking over the gloves as Somerset's primary wicketkeeper.
Colts Cup Match: Just prior to his senior debut, he struck a fluent 51 runs from 64 balls in the Colts Cup Match at Wellington Oval.
Under 19 Captaincy: Tomlinson was appointed Captain of the Bermuda Under-19 National Team. He led the squad during the ICC Under-19 World Cup Americas Qualifiers in Atlanta, Georgia.
