Plenty Goals Scored Across Premier & First Divisions

Sunday in the Bermuda Football Association saw a deluge of goals across the Premier and First Divisions, with 22 finding the back of the net. The action was headlined by a thrilling 4-3 Premier Division encounter and a top-of-the-table clash in the First Division.

PREMIER DIVISION

Devonshire Colts 4 Young Men Social Club 3


At the Police Field, Devonshire Colts edged past Young Men Social Club in a dramatic 4-3 victory.

Senoj Mitchell opened the scoring for the Colts in the second minute, and Jorj Dublin doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 17th minute. However, Ryan Parris hauled Social Club level before the break, first with a 30-yard free-kick and then scoring a penalty in the 45th minute to make it 2-2.

In the second half, Elisha Darrell put the Colts ahead 3-2 after capitalising on a defensive mix-up, but Zeiko Lewis levelled again for Social Club just two minutes later. The scoring was settled in the 87th minute when Mitchell, who started the goal-fest, grabbed the winner for the Colts.

Dandy Town Hornets 3 St. George's Colts 1

League leaders Dandy Town Hornets secured a 3-1 win over the St. George’s Colts at White Hill Field. After a scoreless first half, goals from Lejuan Simmons in the 58th minute and Angelo Simmons in the 60th minute gave the Hornets a quick 2-0 lead. Although Malachi Trott pulled one back for the Colts in the 67th minute, Jahkari Furbert restored the two-goal cushion to seal the win.

X-Roads 2 Devonshire Cougars 2

At Lord’s in St. David’s, X-Road’s and Devonshire Cougars played to a 2 - 2 draw.

At Lord’s in St. David’s, X-Roads and Devonshire Cougars played out a 2-2 draw. After a goalless first half, Kydan Browne in the 61st minute and Mosiais Mills in the 86th minute put the Cougars ahead twice, but Akim Johnston in the 77th minute and Paul Simons one minute into stoppage time ensured X-Roads salvaged a point with a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser.

Boulevard Blazers 0 PHC Zebras 3

At the Devonshire Recreation Club, the PHC Zebras defeated the Boulevard Blazers 3 - 0.

Kadeem Abraham headed in the opener just before the break in the 44th minute, and Enrique Russell scored two goals in the second-half the first in the 51st minute, and the second in the 88th minute to secure all three points.

FIRST DIVISION

Somerset Trojans 1 Robin Hood 2


A top of the table clash saw league leaders Somerset Trojans host second placed Robin Hood at the Somerset Cricket Club.

The top of the table clashed at the Somerset Cricket Club, where second-placed Robin Hood came from behind to inflict the first league defeat of the season on leaders Somerset Trojans, winning 2-1.

Leo Burgess gave the Trojans the lead in the 26th minute, but Sebastian Medeiros equalised for Robin Hood in the 35th minute. The league's leading goalscorer, Keishon Bean, grabbed the winner for Robin Hood in the 52nd minute.

Vasco 0 St. David's 1

At the Police Field, Vasco welcomed St. David’s, in a lower half of the table clash.

After a scoreless first half the lone goal of the game came in the 83rd minute as Cody Richardson found the back of the net, for St. David’s to claim the three points.
