Imani Phillips concluded her successful run at the Total Health Cayman Islands Open, securing a Silver Medal in the Mixed Doubles 4.5 And Above Open Division after a hard-fought three-set final.
Phillips, partnering with Yaniv Semo, reached the Gold Medal match where they took on the strong duo of Jess Murrie and Michael Carse.
In a tense, back-and-forth final, the match went to three sets. Phillips and Semo narrowly lost the first set 11-9, before battling back to level the match by winning the second set 9-11. However, Murrie and Carse ultimately prevailed in the decisive third set, winning 11-8 to claim the gold medal.
Phillips and Semo had earned their spot in the final with a dominant run through the bracket.
Their semi-final required clutch play, where they defeated Anita Warhurst and Steve Thompson 15-12.
Earlier in the day, the pair showcased their form with convincing wins.
They defeated Tyler Welton and Bryan Rameshwar 11-1., they also defeated Zsuzanna Strommer Telek and Jerry Beck 11-2.
The Silver Medal is a significant achievement for Phillips and highlights the growing success of Bermuda's pickleball players on the regional circuit.
