Mitchell Set for Coney Island Motocross Encore Live 4pm

IslandStats.com
Following the resounding success of motocross racing's return to Coney Island Park in 2024, organizer Jyire Mitchell is set to host a follow-up series of events, beginning on Sunday, December 28th, 2025, and continuing on Sunday, January 4th, 2026.

Motocross racing made a spectacular return to Coney Island in December 2024 after an absence of more than two decades, drawing thousands of spectators. The event organized by a youth-driven group led by Jyire Mitchell, was hailed by the Government as a "remarkable showcase of Bermudian talent and community spirit" and a "huge success".

Government ministers noted that the event, which attracted over 5,000 attendees, successfully showcased local and international riders and contributed to sports tourism. Despite concerns from environmental groups, organizers committed to, and successfully completed, the restoration of the park, which was subsequently claimed to be in "better shape than it was before the event".

The events planned for December 28th 2025 and January 4th 2026 look to capitalize on the momentum generated by the initial competition. Mitchell, a professional motocross rider with international experience, designed the initial track to utilize the natural environment, which he said provided more challenges than the existing Southside track.

Fans can expect to hear all the details about the upcoming New Year's racing action directly from the organizer himself. Jyire Mitchell will join www.islandstats.com live at 4 pm to discuss what spectators and competitors can expect for this year's highly anticipated motocross events at Coney Island.
