Richard Scott has retained his position as President of the Somerset Cricket Club following a challenge at the club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) held last night, securing his mandate to lead the club as they prepare to host the prestigious Cup Match Classic in 2026.
Scott successfully held off a challenge from Dennis Lister III to win the vote and remain at the helm of the historic institution.
The AGM also saw key positions filled without contest. Terrence Bean was elected unopposed as the new Treasurer, taking over the club’s finances. Additionally, Tracee Seymour was re-elected unopposed to continue her role as Assistant Secretary.
The Management Committee also welcomed several new faces, bringing fresh perspectives to the club’s governance. The new members joining the committee are Maria Darby, Mohammed Aden, Jidri Smith, and Seon Tatem.
Scott's immediate focus will now shift to consolidating his team and beginning the preparations necessary for Somerset to host the highly anticipated 2026 Classic, a major event on the Bermudian sporting calendar.
