The high-octane atmosphere of the Annual Offshore World Championship has officially ignited in Key West, Florida, with the week-long activities underway, featuring the two Bermudian entries.
The excitement began with one of the most unique spectacles in motorsports: the "world’s fastest parade," which transforms the famous Duval Street into a high-speed nautical procession.
Both Bermuda boats—S-12 Team Bermuda Nuff Said and GL Construction / S-25 Team Bermuda—participated in the event. Teams and sponsors rode their towed powerboats down the street, treating them like floats in a vibrant parade, offering fans an up-close look at the powerful machines before they hit the water.
Following the spectacle, the focus immediately shifted to preparation. Teams moved into the pits today, with both Bermudian boats being put on the water to begin their crucial practice sessions. These early runs will be essential for tuning the boats and acclimatising the crews to the challenging Key West waters ahead of the competitive racing.
The presence of Team Bermuda Nuff Said and GL Construction / S-25 Team Bermuda ensures a strong Bermudian presence in one of the premier events on the offshore racing calendar.
