Bermudian swimmer Elijah Daley put in a solid effort against a field of global elite talent while competing at the World Aquatics Short Course (25m) World Cup in Toronto, Canada.
The World Cup circuit, which attracts the fastest swimmers from around the globe, provided Daley with invaluable competitive experience as he focused on the Individual Medley and Butterfly events.
Daley delivered consistent performances across the preliminary heats, securing top-20 finishes in two key events:
Men’s 100m Individual Medley Preliminaries: Daley finished in 20th place overall, stopping the clock at 56.34 seconds. Men’s 100m Butterfly Preliminaries: He again secured a 20th place finish, recording a time of 54.45 seconds.
The 19-year-old’s highest finish of the competition came in the longer Men’s 200m Individual Medley. Daley swam the distance in 2 minutes, 2.64 seconds (2:02.64), earning a respectable 19th place in the final standings.
Competing in such a high-calibre international setting provides crucial preparation for Daley as he continues to develop his international swimming career.
