Hawley 28th in World Triathlon Championships Final

Bermuda Olympian Erica Hawley delivered a solid performance at the pinnacle event of the season, finishing 28th in the Elite Women's Championship Final at the 2025 World Triathlon Championships in Wollongong, Australia.

Competing on the challenging course at Cove Beach, Hawley battled a world-class field to cross the line with a total time of 2 hours, 1 minute, and 38 seconds (2:01:38).

The overall race was won by Germany’s Lisa Tertsch, who had a phenomenal day to be crowned World Champion, clocking a winning time of 1:56:50.

Hawley’s final time was built on a consistent display across all three segments of the Olympic distance event.

Hawley emerged from the water with a competitive swim time of 20:11, positioning herself well for the start of the 40km bike course. She maintained her focus through the bike course clocking 1:02:35, before closing out the race with a sub-38 minute run time of 37:38.

The 28th-place finish represents a valuable result for Hawley in her first appearance at the Elite World Championship Final, providing crucial experience against the very best triathletes in the world.
