The Bermuda Olympic Association (BOA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Beard as Chef de Mission for Team Bermuda at the XXV Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games, taking place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from July 24 to August 8, 2026.
This marks Beard's third appointment to the prestigious leadership role, having previously served as Chef de Mission for Team Bermuda at the 2018 CAC Games in Barranquilla, Colombia, 2022 CAC Games in San Salvador, El Salvador. His proven track record and understanding of the complexities involved in leading a diverse sport delegation makes him the ideal choice to guide Bermuda's athletes at these Games.
The Santo Domingo 2026 CAC Games represent a significant milestone as they celebrate the centennial of the sporting event, which held its first edition in Mexico City in 1926. Team Bermuda will join athletes from across the Caribbean, Central America, and parts of South America in this major multi-sport event.
BOA President, Peter Dunne stated, “We are delighted to have Jon Beard return as Chef de Mission for our CAC Games delegation. His experience, leadership, and dedication to our athletes were evident in El Salvador, and we have every confidence he will once again lead Team Bermuda with distinction in Santo Domingo."
As Chef de Mission, Beard will be responsible for all operational aspects of Team Bermuda's participation, including logistics coordination, athlete welfare, liaison with the host organizing committee, and serving as the official representative of Bermuda at the Games.
