Bermuda's Andre Lambe has solidified his position as one of the top welterweights in the sport, as he holds the number one ranking in the American Boxing Organization (ABO).
The undefeated Bermudian boxer cemented his top spot after his victory in Galveston, Texas, in June 2025, where he claimed the ABO North American Welterweight title. His professional record, as documented by the respected BoxRec website, ranks him at #206 out of 2,621 welterweight fighters globally. He is also recognized as the #1 welterweight in his home country.
Following a stellar year in 2025, which saw him extend his unbeaten streak, Lambe is also being considered for the ABO's prestigious Boxer of the Year award.
Speaking to www.islandstats.com, Lambe expressed his pride in his achievements and his future ambitions. "It feels incredible to be ranked number one... I’m proud to hold the top spot here in Bermuda as well," he said. "After 14 years in the sport, it’s rewarding to see how far I’ve come, but I also know the journey isn’t finished yet."
Lambe believes his high ranking has put him in a strong position to challenge for a world title. He also revealed that WBC president José Sulaimán has taken notice of his progress, suggesting he could be a strong candidate for a major fight as early as next year.
"That recognition means I’ll soon have the chance to fight on major platforms like DAZN and PBC," Lambe added. "More importantly, it gives me the chance to represent Bermuda proudly on the global stage."
