The University of Oklahoma women's soccer team, featuring Bermuda Women’s National team player Ashley Tutas' teammate, continues its perfect start to the season.
The No. 20 Sooners defeated North Texas 1-0, with a stellar defensive performance and yet another goal from sophomore Kayla Keefer.
Keefer scored for the third consecutive match, providing the decisive goal in a tightly contested game. While the offense found a way to win, the defense was the star of the show. North Texas, who entered the match averaging over 25 shots per game, was held to just four shots on the night by the Sooners' backline, which earned its second shutout of the week.
The victory improves Oklahoma's record to 6-0, marking the first time the program has achieved this feat since 2002 and only the second time in its history. The win over North Texas, a team known for its potent offense, will give the Sooners a huge boost of confidence as they look to extend their unbeaten streak.
