Bermuda's squash players had a challenging day in the doubles competitions at the XXVI Pan American Squash Championship in Brazil, with all three of their teams exiting the tournament in the Round of 16.
In the Men's Doubles, the Bermudian pair of Micah Franklin and Noah Browne were defeated in straight games by Paraguay's Damian Casarino and Francesco Marcantonio, with a final score of 11-9, 11-3.
The Women's Doubles team of Rachel Barnes and Sydney Wallace also went down in straight games, losing 11-7, 11-2 to Fiorella Gatti and Lujan Palacios, also from Paraguay.
In the Mixed Doubles Round of 16, Abigail Brewer and Anaya Smith faced a tough task against Peru's Luciana Castillo and Diego Elias, ultimately falling in straight games, 11-5, 11-3.
Despite the defeats, the Bermudian teams will take away valuable experience from competing against some of the top squash talent in the Americas, as they continue to build for future international competitions.
