Olympian Erica Hawley led the charge, securing a superb second-place finish in the Elite Women's race. Hawley clocked a total time of 1 hour, 2 minutes, and 36 seconds (1:02:36). She emerged from the water after the 750m swim in 9:59, powered through the 20km bike leg in 34:05, and closed strongly with a 17:47 run. The race was won by American Joy Gill, who finished slightly ahead in 1:02:10.
In the Men's Elite race, Nicholas Pilgrim competed fiercely, finishing in 34th place with an overall time of 57:51. Pilgrim exited the swim in 9:13, completed the bike course in 30:32, and finished his run in 17:23.
The Sprint Triathlon event saw further Bermudian success on the podium. Alexander Pilgrim clinched third place overall and was the second male finisher with a time of 1:07:23. His race splits included an 11:24 swim, a 31:13 bike, and a 20:53 run.
Meanwhile, Lynsey Palmer also earned a podium spot in the Sprint Triathlon, finishing as the second female and ninth overall with a time of 1:13:02. Palmer's performance included an 11:05 swim, a 36:27 bike split, and a 21:49 run, placing her behind overall winner Sophie Métivier, who recorded a time of 1:03:16.
The impressive showing by the Bermudian triathletes in Magog highlights the depth of talent within the island's triathlon community on the international stage.
