Two of Bermuda's three LB Football Academy teams were back in action today at the prestigious Iber Cup in Portugal, one of the world’s premier youth football tournaments, experiencing a mixed bag of results on their second day of competition.
In the Girls 2011 Group B, the LB Football Academy team faced a tough challenge, ultimately falling 4-0 to SC Rio Tinto. The Bermudian girls will be looking to regroup and learn from this experience as they continue to compete against strong international opposition.
Meanwhile, in the Boys 2009 Group F Division, LB Football Academy secured a hard-fought draw. They battled to a 1-1 stalemate with SU 1º Dezembro. The crucial goal for LB Football Academy came from Sinai Simons, whose strike ensured his team shared the points in a competitive encounter.
The Iber Cup brings together top youth talent from around the globe, and the experience gained by the LB Football Academy teams, whether through victory, defeat, or a hard-earned draw, will be invaluable for their continued development.
