The 2025 Bermuda Triathlon Association’s SuperSprint Series got underway today at Clearwater Beach, with Sanchez Smith and Sophia LeClerc crowned the male and female winners respectively.
Competitors tackled the challenging SuperSprint distance, which comprised a 200m swim, a 10k cycle, and a 2k run under sunny Bermudian skies.
In the Men's race, Sanchez Smith delivered a strong performance to claim the top spot, crossing the line in a time of 24 minutes and 2 seconds (24:02). Ethan Smith secured second place with a time of 25 minutes and 25 seconds (25:25), while Spencer Haldeman rounded out the podium in third, clocking 25 minutes and 52 seconds (25:52).
The Women's race saw Sophia LeClerc dominate to take the victory, finishing with an impressive time of 26 minutes and 3 seconds (26:03). Riana Robinson was the second female across the line, recording 27 minutes and 56 seconds (27:56), and Kelise Wade secured third place with a time of 28 minutes and 5 seconds (28:05).
The opening event of the SuperSprint Series provided an exciting start to the triathlon season, with all participants demonstrating strong effort and competitive spirit.
