Bermuda Finish Tenth at Team Racing Worlds

IslandStats.com
The final day of the 2025 Team Racing World Championship in Rhode Island saw the Bermuda team secure two victories in breezy but manageable conditions, ultimately finishing tenth overall in the competition.

After challenging weather conditions disrupted the previous day's racing, Day 4 on Narragansett Bay provided a more consistent environment for the teams to battle it out.

The Bermuda contingent, featuring Sophie Dias, Alan Frith, Trystan Hocking, Katrina Williams, Benn Smith, Meghan Sherwin, Julia Lines, and Jason Saints, took to the water determined to improve on their earlier results.

Their efforts paid off as they secured victories in two of their four races on the final day. Bermuda demonstrated their teamwork and tactical skills to defeat both Argentina and Greece. However, they faced tough competition in their other races, ultimately falling to Ireland and the Bahamas.

Despite the earlier challenging results in the regatta, the Bermuda team's two wins on the final day showcased their resilience and fighting spirit. Their tenth-place finish overall represents a solid effort against a strong international field in the demanding team racing format. The experience gained at this World Championship will undoubtedly be valuable for the continued development of Bermuda's young sailors on the global stage.
