Cyclist Kaden Hopkins (Mixed US Lamentin/VCC Capesterre-Belle-Eau) has claimed a commanding victory in the third stage of the USL Grand Prix in Guadeloupe.
The third stage of the event was an individual Time Trial, held over a distance of 18 kilometres around Lamentin. Hopkins demonstrated his strength and time trialling prowess to beat local favourite Kévin Le Cunff (Team Madras Capesterre Belle-Eau).
Hopkins covered the challenging 18-kilometre course in an impressive time of 21 minutes and 5 seconds (21:05). Le Cunff, the winner of Stage Two, finished a significant 45 seconds behind Hopkins, highlighting the Bermudian's dominant performance against a strong field.
This victory marks a significant achievement for Hopkins in the Grand Prix USL, showcasing his versatility across different disciplines of cycling. To beat a rider of Le Cunff's calibre on his home soil will undoubtedly provide a major boost of confidence as the race progresses.
