Stanford University has been crowned the ICSA Open Fleet Racing National Champions after a single day of intense competition. With seven races completed in both the A and B Divisions, Stanford finished with a combined score of just 59 points to take the title.
The shortened championship saw tight racing across the divisions. Stanford's consistent performance across both fleets proved decisive in their victory.
Christian Ebbin and his Tulane University teammates finished 11th out of the 18 participating teams, with a total of 146 points.
Ebbin, sailing in the B Division boat for Tulane, concluded his division with 69 points. His best result of the day came in the final race, where he secured a fifth-place finish. This was one of only three top-ten finishes for Ebbin in the B Division throughout the seven races.
While Tulane University will be aiming for a higher finish in future championships, Ebbin's individual performance, particularly his strong finish in the final race, provides a positive take away for the Bermudian sailor. The experience gained competing at this high level of collegiate sailing will undoubtedly be valuable for his continued development.
