Gillingham's Under-18s were edged out 2-1 by their Bromley counterparts in a closely fought encounter at the Mems Priestfield Stadium. Despite a late push that saw Nayan Grant enter the fray, the young Gills were unable to overturn the deficit.
The match saw both sides create opportunities throughout, but it was Bromley who proved more clinical in front of goal. They established a 2-1 lead by the time Grant was introduced in the 73rd minute, replacing Michael Luxton.
Grant's arrival injected fresh legs into the Gillingham attack as they sought an equaliser in the final stages. However, despite their efforts and the chances created by both teams, neither side could find the back of the net again.
Ultimately, Bromley held on to secure the victory, leaving the Gillingham youngsters disappointed but with valuable lessons learned from a tight and competitive fixture on home turf.
