The picturesque St. George’s Harbor played host to a vibrant spectacle of Comet Class sailing as nine boats lined up for the East End Mini Yacht Club’s Annual Patty Washington Memorial Regatta.
Continuing their winning form from the previous week, the formidable duo of Maxwell Curtis and Wesley Tucker once again proved their dominance on the water. The pair sailed consistently well throughout the four-race event, securing victories in two races and adding a second and a fourth-place finish to their tally. With sailors counting only their best three results, Curtis and Tucker emerged as clear winners with a low score of 4 points.
Alan and Sara Frith put in a strong challenge, finishing in second place overall with 6 points. They matched Curtis and Tucker with two race wins but also recorded two fourth-place finishes, ultimately placing them just behind the leaders.
Rounding out the podium in third place were Stephen Dickinson and Heath Foggo. Their consistent performance saw them finish second in two races and also claim a third-place finish, giving them a total of 7 points.
The Patty Washington Memorial Regatta showcased the enduring popularity and competitive spirit of Comet Class sailing in Bermuda, with Curtis and Tucker's impressive performance highlighting their current prowess on the local sailing scene.
