Sebastian Kempe & Adriana Penruddocke Face Setbacks on Tricky Hyères Day

Day five of the challenging 56th French Olympic Week in Hyères proved to be a day of frustration for Bermuda's sailors, Sebastian Kempe and Adriana Penruddocke, who are competing amongst a strong international fleet.

In the highly competitive ILCA 7 fleet, Kempe endured a tough day with only one race completed. He was unfortunately handed a UFD penalty (U-Flag Disqualification) for a premature start. This resulted in a maximum points score for that race and saw Kempe drop from 11th to 15th overall, now holding a net score of 123 points.

Penruddocke, racing in the ILCA 6 fleet, also faced a difficult day with just a single race sailed. Starting the day in 24th position, she finished the race in 36th place. This result saw her slip to 26th overall at the end of the regatta, concluding with a net score of 122 points.

The unpredictable conditions in Hyères continue to test all the sailors, and unfortunately for Kempe and Penruddocke, day five did not yield the results they were hoping for.

Ebbin and Tulane Climb Rankings After Strong Day Two at Team Race Nationals

Christian Ebbin and his Tulane University teammates enjoyed a significantly improved performance on the second day of the prestigious 2025 ICSA Team Race National Championships, held on the Providence River and hosted by Brown University and the University of Rhode Island.

After a challenging opening day which saw them finish in 12th place with one win and three losses, Ebbin and his Tulane crew found their rhythm on day two. They secured an impressive six victories across their nine races, suffering only three defeats.

Tulane recorded wins against Roger Williams University, the U.S. Naval Academy, Brown University (the hosts), St. Mary’s College of Maryland, the College of Charleston, and Bowdoin College. Their losses came against strong opposition from Harvard University, Yale University, and Boston College.

This strong showing on day two propelled Ebbin and his teammates up the overall standings to 8th place with a much-improved record of seven wins and six defeats. The team will be looking to carry this momentum into the final day of the championships as they aim for a strong overall finish in this highly competitive national event.
