Bermuda Bounce Back with Dominant Win Over Bahamas

Bermuda Won by 10 Wickets

Bahamas 51 Bermuda 55/0

Bermuda responded emphatically in their fourth North America Cup match in the Cayman Islands, securing a comprehensive 10-wicket victory over the Bahamas at the Jimmy Powell Cricket Oval. The win not only helped them recover from their heavy defeat to the United States of America but also cemented their third-place position, securing their qualification for Saturday’s Semi-Finals.

Having won the toss, the Bahamas elected to bat first, but they found themselves in immediate trouble against a disciplined Bermuda bowling attack. The Bahamian batsmen struggled to build any partnerships and were eventually bowled out for a meager 51 runs. Opener Festus Benn provided the only significant resistance, remaining unbeaten on 32.

Bermuda’s bowlers were outstanding, with Dominic Sabir leading the charge, returning impressive figures of 3 wickets for just 8 runs in his two overs. Derrick Brangman also proved difficult to handle, claiming 3 wickets for 12 runs in his four-over spell.

In reply, Bermuda’s opening pair made light work of the chase. Alex Dore led the way with an unbeaten 33, while Marcus Scotland provided solid support with 16 not out. The duo comfortably knocked off the required runs in just 8.5 overs, securing a dominant 10-wicket victory for Bermuda.

Sabir was named Player of the Match.

This commanding win sees Bermuda finish the group stage with two wins and two losses, securing third place in the standings and a spot in Saturday’s Semi-Finals. The emphatic nature of the victory, particularly after the disappointing loss to the USA, will give the team a significant confidence boost heading into the knockout stages of the North America Cup.
