IslandStats.com
A trio of promising young Bermudian footballers recently gained valuable international experience, representing the Steven Gerrard Academy (SGA) at the prestigious MIC Football (Mediterranean International Cup) tournament in Girona, Spain.

Kai Sampson, Jaaziah Van-Lowe, and Nijae Aberdeen all featured for the Steven Gerrard Academy Under 19 team at the 23rd edition of the renowned grassroots football competition. The MIC Cup brings together youth teams from across the globe, with matches played in various municipalities around the Girona region.

Teams such as Arsenal, Manchester United, Inter Miami, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and a host of other great teams from over 40 different Countries all competed.

The Steven Gerrard Academy Under 19s faced a challenging group stage in the tournament. In their opening match, they played to a draw 1-1 against CE Farners, with Jaaziah Van-Lowe netting the lone goal for the SGA side. They then played to a 2-2 draw against ADM Sports B, with Sampson finding the back of the net. They concluded their group stage matches with a 1 - 0 defeat to Y10 Plus Soccer.

They were eventually knocked out in the Round of 16 by Villarreal CF 2-0

While the results may not have gone their way in the group stage, the opportunity to compete in the MIC Football tournament provides invaluable experience for Sampson, Van-Lowe, and Aberdeen. Facing international opposition and experiencing different styles of play will undoubtedly contribute to their development as young footballers. The tournament is known for attracting talented players and providing a platform for growth, and the Bermudian trio will have benefited immensely from their participation with the Steven Gerrard Academy.
