Bernard Park played host to a captivating day of youth football as the Bermuda Football Association staged three finals of the Appleby Youth Knock-Out competition, with two of the matches going down to the wire and decided by nerve-wracking penalty shootouts.

The Under 13 B Final provided the most straightforward victory of the day, as the North Village Rams emphatically defeated X-Road’s 8-0 to lift the trophy. Chaz Edmead was the star of the show for the Rams, bagging a first-half hat-trick. Daley Outerbridge, Jahroy Woods-Lottimore, Makai Tucker, Demetri Benjamin, and Yasin Smith all added their names to the scoresheet, completing a dominant performance.

Xavi Dill was named the Most Valuable Player (MVO) for the victorious North Village Rams, while Remy Furbert earned the MVP award for X-Road’s despite the result.

The Under 13 A Final proved to be a much tighter affair, with Somerset Trojans eventually claiming the title after a tense penalty shootout against FC Bascome.

The two teams battled to a scoreless draw throughout regulation time, leaving the destination of the trophy to be decided by kicks from the penalty mark. In the shootout, the Somerset Trojans held their nerve, emerging victorious with a 4-1 scoreline. Darien Lambert was recognised as the MVP for the Somerset Trojans, while Deari Trott was named the FC Bascome MVP.

The Under 15 Final also provided edge-of-your-seat drama, requiring penalties to separate FC Bascome and the North Village Rams. The match ended in a 1-1 stalemate after regulation time. Jeon Wolfe had given FC Bascome an early lead, scoring in the 4th minute, but Malik Paynter equalized for the North Village Rams late in the game, finding the net in the 76th minute.

Ultimately, it was FC Bascome who held their composure in the penalty shootout, winning 5-4 to secure the Under 15 Knock-Out title. Skylar Peixoto was named the MVP for FC Bascome, while Kaiyuri Albouy earned the MVP award for the North Village Rams in a hard-fought contest.

The three Appleby Youth Knock-Out finals showcased the talent and passion within Bermuda's youth football ranks, with emphatic victories and nail-biting penalty shootouts providing a fitting conclusion to the competition.
