Young footballers representing Vasco Da Gama are currently in Ponta Delgada, Azores, participating in the prestigious 17th Clube União Micaelense Azores Under-11 Children's Soccer International Football Tournament.
The event has attracted a significant gathering of around 5,000 individuals, including the young players, their coaches, team managers, and supportive family members, highlighting the international appeal and importance of this youth football competition.
Drawn into the Eduardo Carreiro Group, Vasco Da Gama kicked off their tournament campaign with a positive result, securing a comfortable 3-0 victory over CD Os Oliveirenses. This opening win provided a good platform for the young team.
However, their second group stage match proved to be a tougher challenge as they faced CS Maritimo and ultimately fell to a 4-1 defeat. This setback meant their progress through the group would depend on their final fixture.
Vasco Da Gama concluded their Group stage matches with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Next Gen Futbol. This result will now determine their final standing in the Eduardo Carreiro Group and their pathway in the remainder of the Azores Under-11 International Tournament. The young Vasco Da Gama team will be looking to learn from their group stage experiences as they aim to progress further in the competition.
