Day three of the Sailing Point Easter Regatta in Slovenia delivered another day of fantastic sailing, with consistent southwest winds of up to 11 knots providing ideal conditions for the 467 sailors from 63 nations, including a determined contingent from Bermuda. As the regatta progresses, the sailors have now been split into different fleets based on their performance.
Thomas McBain continues to lead the Bermudian sailors, now competing in the prestigious Gold Fleet. He currently sits in 58th place with 152 net points, his best finish of the day being a commendable 16th.
Bermuda has a strong representation of four sailors in the Emerald Fleet. Heath Myers is leading this group with 167 net points, showcasing impressive consistency with three finishes inside the top 10, including a best of 2nd place on day three. Walker Smith is also performing well in 18th position with 265 net points, his best finish of the day being 6th. Benjamin De Couto holds 20th place with 268 net points, while Sean Pedro occupies 80th place with 400 net points.
In the Silver Fleet, Jesse Savage is currently in 40th position with 189 net points, while Harry Brown is in 72nd place with 240 net points.
Rex Henagulph is competing in the Bronze Fleet and sits in 30th place with 231 net points. Emma Brown is in 71st position with 296 net points, and Miguel Leite is currently in 82nd place with 323 net points.
With more racing still to come, the Bermudian sailors continue to demonstrate their skills and determination against a highly competitive international fleet. The challenging conditions and fleet splits provide a valuable learning experience for these young athletes as they strive for the best possible results at the Easter Point Regatta.
