Moore & Jones Shine at Summer Long Course Meet

The National Sports Center played host to the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association's Summer Long Course Meet, showcasing the island's swimming talent with several impressive performances across various events.

Madelyn Moore was a standout performer in the women's events. In the Women’s 15 & Over 100 LC Meter Freestyle, she touched the wall first in a time of 59.31 seconds. Jorgia White finished second in 1:07.13, with Elanna Fulton taking third place in 1:07.74. Moore also dominated the Women’s 15 & Over 100 LC Meter Butterfly, clocking 1:06.50. Fulton secured another podium finish in second place with a time of 1:19.38, and Cristina Abend finished third in 1:25.25.

Logan Jones proved to be a force in the Men's races. He claimed victory in the Men’s 15 & Over 100 LC Meter Freestyle with a time of 55.81 seconds. Noah Maranzana finished closely behind in second place with 56.45, and Nayland Harris touched the wall third in 1:00.97. Jones also triumphed in the Men’s 15 & Over 200 LC Meter Freestyle, clocking 2:11.28. Joseph Moniz finished second in 2:19.54, and Jacob Wright took third place in 2:23.43.

Jorgia White added a Gold Medal to her name, winning the Women’s 15 & Over 200 LC Meter Freestyle in a time of 2:28.26. Emilia Dunkerley finished second in 2:42.35, and Kelise Wade claimed third place in 3:17.47.

In the shorter Butterfly sprint, Jacob Wright took top honours in the Men’s 15 & Over 50 LC Meter Butterfly, touching the wall in a winning time of 31.89 seconds. Zachary Johnson finished second in 33.50, and Gianluca Bortoli rounded out the top three with a time of 34.90.

The Summer Long Course Meet provided a valuable opportunity for Bermuda's swimmers to compete in longer course distances and test their progress. The performances of Madelyn Moore and Logan Jones, along with the victories of Jorgia White and Jacob Wright, highlight the depth of talent within the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association.
