The 2025 Wednesday Night Sailing Series, hosted by the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club (RHADC), got underway in Hamilton Harbor, marking the start of another season of competitive sailing.
The opening night saw a tight contest, with boats battling for position and navigating the harbor's conditions.
Airforce was the first boat to cross the finish line, recording a time of 56 minutes and 14 seconds. Their corrected time of 53 minutes and 13 seconds secured them first place in the race.
Passion was the second boat to complete the course, clocking a time of 57 minutes and 56 seconds. However, their corrected time of 54 minutes and 50 seconds placed them third overall.
Menace secured second place for the night with a corrected time of 54 minutes and 23 seconds.
Scatteraction finished fourth with a corrected time of 55 minutes.
The RS 21 number 3 boat rounded out the top five finishers with a corrected time of 55 minutes and 9 seconds.
The first race of the Wednesday Night Sailing Series has set the stage for an exciting season of sailing in Hamilton Harbor. The corrected times highlight the importance of handicap systems in ensuring fair competition among different types of boats.
