UNC Wilmington (UNCW) Men's Tennis, featuring Trey Mallory, continued their impressive run of form, securing their seventh consecutive victory with a dominant 7-0 shutout of Presbyterian in the regular season finale at Templeton Center Tennis Courts.
Wilmington delivered a comprehensive performance, showcasing their strength across both doubles and singles play. The win was a fitting end to their regular season campaign.
Mallory contributed to the team's success in the doubles competition. He partnered with Alex de Gabriele in the number two doubles spot, where they faced a tough challenge from Pedro Cardoso and Daksh Prasad. The match was tightly contested, with the UNCW pair trailing 5-4 when play was halted.
However, UNCW had already secured the doubles point by winning the other two doubles matches, rendering the Mallory/de Gabriele match unnecessary.
In singles, Mallory played in the number four spot against Eduardo Valentin. He secured a comfortable victory, winning 6-3, 6-2, and adding to UNCW's dominant scoreline. This was Mallory's fourth singles win of the season.
The 7-0 shutout victory underscores UNCW's strong finish to the regular season, with Mallory playing a key role in their continued success.
