Barnes Concludes in Charlotte & Dominant Karting in Bermuda

IslandStats.com
A weekend of motor racing saw action both at the Stars Championship Series in the US and at the Bermuda Karting Club's Race Day, with varying degrees of success for the participants.

Barnes' Final Races at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Scott Barnes concluded his racing at the Stars Championship Series – Queen Gambit City – held at the renowned Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina.

In the Warm-Up race, Barnes finished 6th with a fastest lap time of 42.046 seconds, achieved on his 9th lap.

After being disqualified in the Pro Masters / Pro Super Masters Pre-Final race, Barnes competed in the Pro Masters / Pro Super Masters Final. This race proved challenging, as Barnes received two penalties. He was given a +10 seconds penalty for an incident and a +3 seconds penalty for a jump start.

Barnes said, “Days like today show you what you love about racing and what sucks about racing. Started off pole for the Pre final today, made the pass for the lead on like lap 3 and totally walked the field….Pushed across the scales and was 1lb light after being 4/5 lbs heavy all weekend (In almost 30 years of racing I’ve only ever DQ’ed for being light twice, and both were in US after big wins by .5lb and 1lb)

That put us starting last for the finals, got a great start and was up to 5th by lap 3, saw the hole to make a pass on 4th and took it, and it didn’t work, the hole closed fast and we were done. Definitely should have been a little more patient as we had the kart to get back to an easy 2nd,maybe the win but went a little too aggressive too soon. Live & learn. We showed we were the kart to beat today, just some bad luck. Learn from it & onto the next one next month.”

Dominant Performances at Bermuda Karting Club Race Day 13

The Southside Motorsports Park hosted the Bermuda Karting Club's 2024/2025 season Race Day 13, delivering a day of thrilling, high-octane racing.

After a rainy morning, the skies cleared for the drivers to take to the track and showcase their skills across various classes. Several drivers achieved dominant performances, securing multiple victories.

Ryan Burgess proved unstoppable in the Tag Senior Class, winning all three races.
Syah Pedro matched Burgess’ achievement in the Tag Junior Class, also claiming three consecutive wins.
Jason North won two of the three races in the L206 Class, with Robert Wheatley winning the other race.
Blake Horseman secured two wins out of three in the Shifter Class, while Ryan Rebello won the remaining race.
Tanner Correia completed the list of dominant performers, claiming all three wins in the Cadet Class.

The weekend's motor racing action provided a contrast in settings and outcomes. Barnes faced challenges at the highly competitive Stars Championship Series, while the Bermuda Karting Club's event celebrated dominant performances and local racing talent.
