Arizona State University (ASU) Men's Tennis, ranked #35 nationally and featuring Daniel Phillips, saw their three-match winning streak come to an end with a 4-0 defeat against the #17 ranked UCF. The match was played in front of a supportive crowd, including a large contingent of family and friends from Bermuda.
The Sun Devils faced a tough challenge from UCF, who demonstrated their strength across both doubles and singles play.
In doubles action, Phillips partnered with Mathis Bondaz in a closely contested match. However, they were narrowly defeated in a tie-breaker, losing 7-6 to UCF's Paul Colin and Nicolas Oliveira.
Phillips then competed in the 5th singles spot, facing off against Oliveira once again. Unfortunately, Phillips was defeated in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
Despite the presence of a strong supporting crowd, the Arizona State team was unable to overcome the challenge posed by UCF.
