IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the appointment of Clay Smith as the new Under-19 Boys National Team Coach.

Smith has signed a contract that runs until September 2027, and he will be joined by assistant coach, Reggie Tucker Jr. This new coaching team will lead the development and preparation of Bermuda's young cricketing talent.

Coach Smith expressed his enthusiasm about the appointment, stating, “It is indeed an honour to be given this opportunity to coach the Under-19 National team. Reggie Tucker and I are looking forward to this challenge, as it is a talented group of cricketers who are keen to learn and improve. We will do everything in our power to prepare the players in the hope of giving them every opportunity for success.”

To identify and assess potential players for the team, the BCB will be holding open trials. There will also be a meet and greet session with Coaches Smith and Tucker, allowing young cricketers to interact with the new coaching staff.

Trial and Meet & Greet Details:

Dates: Monday, April 14th and Wednesday, April 16th
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Location: National Sports Center (NSC) North Field – BCB Axis Training Center
Eligibility: Young men aged 15 – 17

This appointment and the subsequent trials signify the BCB's commitment to developing youth cricket in Bermuda and providing young players with opportunities to progress in the sport.
